Katherine Ward, MBACP, MA, BA (Hons) Sex Therapy, Couples Counselling & Individual Counselling

About Me

I have a masters in relationship therapy and a professional sex therapy certificate. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Both of these trainings took place through RelateI also have a special interest in trauma, and how adverse experiences influence the way that we are in our intimate relationships.

My experience ranges from various clinical settings. I've worked volunteering in an inner city London school counselling adolescents. I am a registered baby bonding practitioner, and have an understanding of the mechanisms of early bonding and attachment.

I've also worked in the NHS; I was a district nurse visiting people in their own homes primarily carrying out palliative and terminal care. Throughout this, I supported couples and families as well as my patients.

I have a special interest in the unique impact of sex in different relationships. I know it can sometimes be an uncomfortable topic, but it is never a taboo in my counselling room. I work hard -but at your pace- to overcome any discomfort and support constructive and sometimes vital conversations around sexual intimacy.

I believe in creating a therapeutic environment where we can gently create a balance of acceptance and change in your life as well as your relationships.
